Our Mission Behind Every Service

We opened Sharper Image on January 7, 2014, and I have not looked back since.

Our mission from the beginning has been simple:

To provide consistent and friendly service to our clients.
And to continue educating ourselves so we can better educate you.

That second part is why we bring in the best industry professionals 3-4 times a year to train our team in the latest service styles. It's also why our stylists work hard to earn new certifications as the years go by. The more we know, the better we can serve you.

We are a community-minded salon. Being part of Red Deer allows us to take part in community events. I love having work experience students in from MC & Delmar College here in town, giving them a real idea of what salon life is all about.

Meet Our Team

I have been a stylist since 2002. So hard to believe where time has gone and how much the industry has changed and how it as changed me as a person. But the one thing that hasn't changed is the reason why I do hair: Because I love it!!

I love everything about hair styling. The personal relationships you make, along with making people feel beautiful. You get to see them on their best and worst days, and you get to help them through that.

To many it’s "JUST a haircut" or "I'm JUST a hairdresser" but it’s not JUST anything. When it’s your passion, it’s everything to you. When clients trust you with their hair for a special event or when they come in to get their hair shaved off due to illness, it is something I hold very dear to my heart.

I have been a salon owner since opening Sharper Image in January 2014 and it has been the best decision of my life.

Yes it has many challenges, but without challenges we do not grow, and growth is extremely import to me. Without struggle, how can we truly appreciate our accomplishments?

For me the most rewarding feeling is standing back in the salon and just watching the beehive of creativity and passion that is taking place in the salon. Seeing the smiles on clients faces when they leave and the excitement on my staff's face when they gave the client the exact service they had asked for. It is a beautiful moment.

Over the years of being a stylist I have worked mainly with apprentices and they are near and dear to my heart. They are the future of this industry and therefore I wanted to get more involved with the Apprenticeship training side of the industry. 

I recently was able to get a position as a community member which includes me being a marker of the practical exam as Apprentices are moving towards being a Journeyman hair stylist. I am really enjoying this new position I have taken on.

With 15 years in the hair industry — Over 10 of those at Sharper Image — I’ve learned that doing hair is about so much more than just the cut or color. It’s about connection. I love getting to know my clients, hearing their stories, and creating a space where they feel comfortable, confident, and cared for.

My path into hair started in the most unexpected way—braiding my horse’s mane! What began as a simple hobby turned into a true passion during high school, when I discovered cosmetology and never looked back.

I’m a Wella Colour Expert certified stylist, and I geek out over the chemistry and artistry behind hair color. But in recent years, my biggest growth has come from my love for curls. Learning to accept and embrace my own curly hair has been such a journey, and it’s made me even more passionate about helping others do the same. There’s nothing better than showing someone how to fall in love with their natural texture.

I’m also deeply committed to my team. Supporting, sharing knowledge, and growing together have become some of the most rewarding parts of my career.

For me, hair isn’t just about style—it’s about connection, confidence, and community.

My hairstyling journey began with one simple goal — to help people look and feel amazing. With over 8 years behind the chair, I’ve learned that the best hairstyles don’t just turn heads — they boost confidence and let your personality shine. My mission? To make sure every client leaves my chair feeling like the best version of themselves.

I’m proud to be a Wella Color Expert, having completed their most advanced certification — a deep dive into hair and scalp analysis, color formulation, and precision application. I’ve also earned my Cut Craft Certification, where I honed techniques tailored to every face shape and hair texture.

Curly, coily, or wavy — I love working with textured hair! Helping clients embrace their natural curls and see their true texture come to life is one of my favorite parts of the job. I’m also a Certified Extension Specialist, giving clients endless ways to create the look they’ve always dreamed of.

Most recently, I stepped into a new adventure as an Educator for Neuma, a product line I’m thrilled to represent. Teaching and inspiring other stylists has added a whole new layer of joy to my career.

Every day in the salon reminds me why I love what I do — the laughs, the creativity, and the amazing people I get to connect with. I’m so grateful to be part of this vibrant, supportive team, and I can’t wait to welcome you into our salon family.

I’ve been in the hair industry since 2012, and my favourite part of being a stylist is seeing someone leave my chair feeling confident and completely themselves.

I’m certified in both BABE and PONY extensions, and I have a soft spot for rich brunettes and vibrant reds. I also spent several years working exclusively as a barber, and yes, I love a good perm. Honestly, I can’t pick just one favourite service. What I enjoy most is getting to know you and creating hair that suits your style, your routine, and how you want to feel.

That care doesn’t stop when you leave the salon. I’ll help you find products you actually enjoy using, so your hair feels just as good at home and you can keep loving it between appointments.

Outside the salon, I’m usually spending time with my family, camping, quadding, cooking, or finding any excuse to be outdoors. I’m much better with a smoker than an oven, but I’ll happily talk recipes while we plan your next look.

I’ve been a hairstylist since 2022, and every moment of this journey has been incredibly rewarding. My greatest inspiration for pursuing this career has always been my grandmother, who instilled in me a passion for uplifting others and staying true to myself.

What I love most about hairstyling is the ability to make a positive impact in people’s lives—helping them feel confident, beautiful, and authentically themselves. I’m dedicated to continually expanding my skills and knowledge so I can provide the highest level of care and creativity for each of my guests.

In the past few months, I’ve completed an intensive four-day cutting class, several advanced color application workshops, and an in-depth scalp care training. I’m also proud to be fully certified in Babe hair extensions, and I’m excited to keep learning and growing in this ever-evolving industry.

Whether it’s full back-to-back foils, specialty perm wraps, or bold pixie cuts, I truly enjoy all aspects of hairstyling. I love exploring new colors and techniques, staying up to date with the latest trends to ensure every client leaves my chair feeling refreshed and confident.

Outside the salon, I love spending time with my husband and our pets. We enjoy camping, quadding, and finding new adventures to share together. When we’re not outdoors, you can usually find me curled up with a good book.

Being a licensed journeyman has been so rewarding. From continuing to learn new techniques to learning from and meeting new people.

Growing up I've always done my own hair with all sorts of colours and lengths simply because it was fun. After high school I took a gap year and found myself looking into hair school where I started in 2022.

With all the new trends going round I strive to stay up to date while also being well versed. With only being a year in I’ve learnt so much about the interpersonal relationships, guest relations and overall the ever so growing hair industry.

Currently I love colouring hair, whether you're looking to be blonde or red, watching the process and understanding the science behind it is always so fascinating to me.

Outside of work it might be hard to find me as I tend to stay home with my two cats and boyfriend watching tv or playing video games or one of my other million hobbies I tend to pick up and put down every couple of weeks.

I look forward to having you in my chair and create a look that's tailored to you. 

My name is Chloe and I am so excited to be doing hair. After high school I went into psychology at the UofA for a year and learned that university wasn't the path for me. After learning that, I decided to follow my heart and sign up for hair school!

I'm now very happy to be meeting all kinds of new people and learning all kinds of new techniques to make you feel the very best you can. Over my year at school I've learned how to lift and tint lashes, laminate and tint brows, wax brows and full face, wax full body and got certified in my level one makeup! Any chance to expand my knowledge base in this rewarding industry is exciting and welcomed. I've since graduated and have had the privilege of working with the amazing Sharper Image Hair Design team!

I’ve been learning so much about hair, client care, teamwork and how a salon operates. As of now I love cutting hair whether it’s short long or anything in between and anything to do with colouring and lightening hair whether they’re vivids or a subtle lived in blonde. When I'm not doing hair you can find me snuggled in front of the fire watching the Rookie or whatever show I may be binging at the time or out and about fishing, hiking, or swimming in various bodies of water.

Each day in the salon shows me new creativity, confidence and connections all while pursuing my love and passion for the craft I do! Joining the hair industry in 2024 and gaining hands-on experience starting 2025 has given me irreplaceable fulfillment - especially when I provide the right care and results for who is in my chair.

As the oldest sister who grew up taking the role, braiding styles, the little me advocating hairstyling would be ecstatic to know I am now behind the chair as a professional stylist! Being educated with the experience and skills to support people in feeling comfortable as their authentic selves and regaining that beaming confidence again is forever rewarding to me!! 

As I continue to craft in the ever - evolving world of hair, I hold a healthy balance of self care that’s greatly important to my work performance. I love keeping myself uplifted exploring new camps, waters along with a fair amount of at home movie series, time with friends and making homemade recipes with good company.

I’m truly enjoying and appreciating each new day and all the new personalities that sit in my chair. Whether for a refreshed trim, glossing, vibrant blondes or all natural upkeep I’m here to create looks that help my clients feel heard, confident and beautiful. I can’t wait to meet you all and bring your hair dreams to life!

With over a decade of experience, I’ve invested time in a variety of courses that keep me at the forefront of hairdressing. My certifications include Cut Craft, Babe Extensions, Curly Hair Expertise, Body Waxing, Ear and Nose Piercing, and Makeup Artistry. I’ve also participated in multiple classes focusing on advanced coloring techniques.

Beyond my passion for hair, I find inspiration in the great outdoors, often spending time with my kids and animals. This balance enriches my creativity and fuels my approach to hairdressing, allowing me to bring a calm and relaxed energy to our sessions.
